In 2004, Polly and her husband were doing some chores around their farm when Polly fell from the roof of their home. She sustained very serious head injuries, but thanks to God’s healing grace has recovered remarkably.
She wrote a letter to TWR…
"I love TWR! Almost four years ago I had a very serious accident which left me with impaired vision and practically bedridden for a long time. When I finally returned home after spending a long time in hospital I was unable to read the Word of God or go to church. One day, I turned on my radio and quite by accident I discovered TWR whilst looking for something to listen to.
The news channels only contained “bad news”, but praise God, I stopped turning the dial when I heard a voice preaching a message – it was John MacArthur. My heart leaped with joy, at least I could listen to God’s edifying Word. Then I heard Chuck Swindoll, teaching about the armour of God. Wow! I was so blessed by Woodrow Kroll speaking about the names of God and their meanings (our El Shaddai). Also teachings about the book of Jude and many more. What a feast! One of my favourites, Dr David Jeremiah, warmed my heart and I also loved hearing real life stories.
On Sundays when I am not able to go to church I am encouraged by Billy Graham and so many other wonderful preachers. What a variety! I also enjoy Vernon McGee’s Bible studies every night.
Oh yes, I almost forgot, thank you for Focus on the Family, Words to Live By and the beautiful gospel music you play. The list goes on and on.
Thank you so much TWR! Thank you for being there for me when I needed you most. I can go on and on about the glorious times I’ve spent in the presence of my precious Saviour because of TWR broadcasts.
My prayer is that God will richly bless you all and make His face shine on you."
She added a post script to her letter, " Now that my eyesight has been restored, I still prefer TWR to watching television."
