Generation of Hope is
a series of youth programmes produced in Kenya, Zimbabwe,
Swaziland and Malawi. These programmes challenge teenagers
to look into the Word of God to find true meaning in
life.
Programmes are specially researched and prepared to deal
with issues relevant to teenagers in Africa today. A dedicated
team of producers work tirelessly to engage a youth culture
that faces issues such as poverty, famine, HIV/AIDS, war,
dating and courting, and crime on a daily basis. The programme
has been effective in helping young people face the challenges
of the day.
A good example of this programme in action was seen in
the way the programme became a tool in helping
people in Kenya work through a national tragedy when more
than 70 young people lost their lives in a dormitory fire
at a school near Nairobi. Producer Maria Wanza and her team
interviewed parents, church leaders, doctors and community
leaders as they struggled to come to grips with this terrible
tragedy. |
