TWR and Cross Currents International Ministries (CCIM) have teamed up to produce and strategically broadcast audio versions of the books Your Quest for God and Food for Faith, sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with the people of Côte d'Ivoire and surrounding countries in West Africa.
Over the past few months, violence in Côte d'Ivoire has escalated and is culminating in attempts to oust the former president Laurent Gbagbo from the city of Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. More than a million people have fled Abidjan for surrounding countries or other parts of Cote d'Ivoire where they will remain for now as refugees.
With lives shattered, living in refugee camps, full of fear and with a sense of hopelessness, whole families huddle around radios listening for news of what is happening back at home, looking for hope and asking themselves searching questions about their lives and their future. It is at times like this that they are most open to hearing the Gospel.
Partnering with CCIM, TWR Africa will produce and broadcast 110 four-minute programmes in African French on medium wave from Benin and via VIVID satellite to FM stations across West Africa. The aim of these programmes is to reach into the lives of Ivorians and others living in West Africa and show them that there is a God who loves them and cares about them in the circumstances in which they find themselves. This God can be known through His Son, Jesus Christ if they will accept Him as their Lord and Saviour.
Please pray for these programmes, that many will hear them, put their faith, and hope in Jesus Christ and will continue to be discipled through local churches on their return to Côte d'Ivoire. Pray that the situation in Cote d'Ivoire will soon return to normal and that people will no longer live in fear for their lives.
